A PostNumber is the verified identity behind every Letro account. Letro issues it once, at account creation, after identity verification: you scan the NFC chip of your biometric passport in the app and confirm your address. The result is a permanent, non-transferable identifier with a country prefix — for example UK32567 — anchored to a verified person at a verified address. Because a PostNumber is issued only after verification and cannot be transferred or re-issued, every counterparty in your Letro channel is who they say they are. That is what makes Letro records usable as evidence, and what stops impersonation before the first document moves.
