Do my clients or external counterparties need a paid seat?
No. External participation is free; you pay only for your own firm's seats. Recipients who are not on Letro can be addressed by email address: they receive an emailed link to a temporary room where they can view the messages, with the option to download Letro.
Can we pay in EUR? How is VAT handled?
Prices are quoted and billed in CHF. Prices exclude VAT; customers account for any applicable VAT themselves. EUR, GBP and USD reference prices at fixed rates are on the way.
What are the contract terms and how do we cancel?
Monthly plans can be cancelled with one month's notice. Yearly plans renew automatically and can be cancelled with notice one month before the end of the contract year. The Terms of Use set out the details.
Where does our data live?
Cloud and Dedicated run on Infomaniak in Switzerland, operated by Letro Tech GmbH. Sovereign runs on your own infrastructure, in the jurisdiction you choose, including fully air-gapped. Message content is end-to-end encrypted in every tier; see the Trust Center for the full data-residency picture.
Is a DPA included?
Yes. A Data Processing Agreement is available with every plan at no extra cost. Our subprocessor list and data-residency documentation are published in the Trust Center.
If we leave Letro, what happens to our archives?
Your records remain exportable. Self-serve export of your firm's records in standard formats is included in every plan; managed offboarding — white-glove extraction and secure handover — is available as a one-time paid service. After termination, records stay exportable for 90 days, after which they are permanently deleted.
Is there a free trial?
Yes — 30 days as standard. Firms joining during the founding phase get their first three months free on every tier, with setup fees waived (on-premise installations are quoted separately).
Can a small firm choose Sovereign?
Yes. The tiers are defined by the level of control you need, not by headcount. A five-person firm handling sensitive matters may need Sovereign from day one; a large institution may start in Cloud.
